I re-wrote this song as though the drug was singing it to the new user. The lyrics speak the lies that addiction told me throughout my boozing and using days. I believed those lies right up until the last couple of years before I got into recovery. Even after I realized that I was as a dog to the master of addiction, I was unable to break the cycle until the local police department helped the old HP do it for me. Then, with the help of the people in ETA, I was able to learn how to stay clean and sober one day at a time. My changes are in caps.
