Those that know me, or have read this blog, know that I'm a really sick person. In fact, I have more fun being sick than most of the people I know. Not only do I accept the fact that I'm sick, I embrace it. As an expression of my sick thinking, I like to re-write songs to make them about recovery. I've even been known to sing one of the re-written songs in an ETA meeting instead of speaking. If you've never heard me do this then tonight, when you get down on your knees to thank the old HP for His many gifts to you, be sure and mention how grateful you are to have missed this thrilling experience. Some people would say you should also pray for this particular blessing to continue...
Today's song is the theme song of the movie "Grease". Originally, the song was penned by Frankie Valli and is indeed a great song. I've always liked it. Some of my friends think I have ruined the song for them forever now that I've sang the modified version to them. Some people are just oversensitive and judgemental. Let me know what you think. My changes are in capital letters.

ReplyDeleteEven though I don't know you, I feel compelled to respond. I am one of those people that this blogger refers to as one of her friends. And I suppose if I think about it, when you've known someone for ten years and have gone through all kinds of stuff together (blood, sweat, tears, and joy), we are indeed more than friends. She takes great pleasure and pride if you will, in rewriting songs. As far as the Grease song, I have no argument with what she changed. I do however feel I must warn you that now, every time I see the movie Grease on TV, she automatically comes to mind. And I wonder what other soundtrack songs she has intentions of changing, so I can think about her with those movies too!! So, if you are okay with that happening, then by all means, ask for more on your knees tonight! LOL!!! Enjoy!!!
