Song Day - " The Wanderer"

With all of the positive feedback from the sobriety Grease song last week, I've decided to post one re-written-for-sobriety song each Thursday. To those of you that are incredulous anyone would encourage me, I wish to say: na-na-na-na-boo-boo.

The Wanderer, by Dion, isn't the song that sparked this particular gift of mine, but it is certainly a classic. There are more people familiar with this re-write than with any other. Many people have said that they think of the re-write whenever they hear the original played on the radio. Skeptics, as well as others who can't appreciate true art, say that I ruined the song for them. We need not concern ourselves with these unenlightened people. (There are times, like this one, where I've been known to be a wee bit facetious. Perhaps you have noticed that?)

Without further ado, here is the re-written song. My changes are in capitol letters.

Well, YOU'RE the type of guy* that likes to THINK THINGS THROUGH
YOU THINK WHEN YOU'RE WITH ME,
YOU THINK WHEN YOU'RE WITH YOU
And when YOU find YOURSELF
SLOWING DOWN YOUR BRAIN
YOU JUMP BACK INTO THAT HEAD OF YOURS
AND STIR IT UP AGAIN

CAUSE YOU'RE A PONDERER
YEAH YOU'RE A PONDERER
YOUR BRAIN GOES
around around around around

*word may be changed to 'gal' if needed.
PS Song may also be used to describe a Normie if necessary. We aren't the only ones with thinking disorders, you know.

Have a good and sober day.

  1. Yeah....that's a Oldie Moldie! I like your words better than the original too! As I start my journey to Colorado tomorrow morning to go see my son before he leaves for Afghanistan, I'll try to hear your words. I can turn into a "Ponderer" so easily and if it were always positive "Pondering" it wouldn't be a problem. So, Off I go to try to have a nice visit while trying to be positive and pleasant. I will try my hardest....for my son.
Thanks for the words to think about!
