Today is Memorial Day and I thought about taking the day off. The old HP must have had a different idea though, because He had me standing in the grocery check-out line behind a couple of ignorant, self righteous analyyyzers. I was unable to detect WHY they had such high opinions of themselves. I took a fearless and thorough inventory of their every aspect, too. I found nothing that impressed me.

I kept my mouth shut then, but I'm gonna answer their loud and stupid remarks here. Chances are that they don't read this blog and I doubt they are in any type of recovery program. (My dear old HP, if they ever get into the recovery program ETA can I sponsor at least one of them? PLEEEASE? Pretty please? Say yes, please say yes.)

Who cares about Memorial Day are the people that know exactly how high the price for freedom really is. These are the same people that have payed this price. We know and love people who gave their lives for us to have freedom.

What the big deal is anyway is the generations that settled the land, fed (and continue to feed) those that live here. They built schools and made sure we had the chance to be educated (even though you obviously didn't take advantage of this opportunity). The big deal is those that work their whole lives for God, this country, their loved ones and appreciate the blessings that have been bestowed on us all.

The reason there is no ice available for purchase is because some people plan ahead for picnics and parties and have bought it before the very last minute. I doubt they considered you at all when buying it, either. Some people want to gather family and friends together on this holiday because they are fun to be around and they recognize how lucky they are to have people who love them.

Memorial Day is not stupid. It is a day to remember all who lived before you and made it so easy for you act like the idiot you are without your having to worry you'll be executed in the parking lot.
