Song Day - After The Lovin'

Today's song is a real oldie and was done by Englebert Humperdink, whom those under 45 have probably never heard of. I swear that I did not make it up. Yes, it is an odd name and I'd have changed it had I been saddled with it, but to each his own. This is a song of prayer and praise and has an uncanny ability to soothe my soul whenever I sing it. I hope it does the same for you. My changes are in capitals.

So I sing you to sleep after the lovin'
With a song I just wrote yesterday
And I hope you can hear
What the words and the music have to say
It's so hard to explain everything that I'm feelin'
Face to face, I just seem to go dry
But I love you so much
That the sound of your voice can get me high

Thanks for taking me on a one-way trip to the sun
And thanks for turning me into a someone

So I sing you to sleep after the lovin'
I BLOW back the hair from MY eyes
And the love IN MY HEART
Is so real that it makes me want to cry

And I know that my song isn't sayin' anything new
Oh but after the DAY'S DONE, I'm still in love with you

So I sing you to sleep after the lovin'
I SCRAPE back the hair from MY eyes
And the love IN MY HEART
Is so real that it makes me want to cry

And I know that my song isn't sayin' anything new
Oh but after the DAY'S DONE, I'm still in love with you
Yes, after the DAY'S DONE, I'm still in love with you
WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE , I'm still in love with you

Have a good and sober day.
