Song Day! Lost in Your Eyes by Debbie Gibson

Many love songs I find very easy to turn into songs of praise to the old HP and most of them I simply enjoy the feeling of peace I get while singing them. This song is a bit different because it has a funny story behind it.

For the past several years, the old HP has been nagging me to write and I resisted because I had no idea what He wanted me to write about or what to do with the stuff I wrote. Of course I'm thinking books and I don't know anything about editors or publishers. What would be the point of collecting my works in a drawer?

However, the day came when I asked for something big and important from the old HP. We cut a deal and the blog was born. Shortly thereafter, I'm singing this song and when I got to the chorus I sang, "I don't mind not knowing what I'm headed for", which is the opposite of reality for me, and I burst out laughing. I still laugh when I sing that part. It has become something of a joke between the old HP and I. I hope you enjoy it, too. My changes are in caps.

Lost in Your Eyes by Debbie Gibson

VERSE 1:

I get lost in your eyes

And I feel my spirits rise
And soar like the wind..
IT FEELS LIKE love that I am in

I get weak in a glance

KIND OF LIKE what's called romance
And now I know
'Cause when I'm lost I can let go

CHORUS:

I don't mind not knowing what I'm heading for

You can take me to the sky...
It's like being lost in heaven
When I'm lost in your eyes

VERSE 2:

I just CAUGHT, don't know why

Some ONE'S there we can't deny...
And when I first knew
Was when I first looked FOR You

I HAVE FINALLY FOUND my way

SALVATION'S NOT ONLY worlds away
CAUSE I WAS found
When I GOT lost in your eyes

CHORUS:

I don't mind not knowing what I'm heading for

You can take me to the skies...
Oh it's like being lost in heaven x2
When I'm lost in your eyes

VERSE 3:

I get weak in FROM YOUR glance
KIND OF LIKE what's called romance
Oh, I WAS found
When I LOOKED INTO Your eyes

Have a good and sober day.
